Booking a trip
What is Boundl?
Trips planned day by day by people who know the place, that you can book in one go: flights, places to stay, getting around and tickets, in a single checkout.
What's included in the price?
The trip price covers getting there from your nearest airport (or by train or coach when it’s close), the stays, getting between towns and the tickets the creator recommends. Extras are optional. The prices we show are what you pay, with nothing added at checkout.
How does Boundl make money?
Each price includes a margin for us on top of what the airline, hotel or partner charges, and part of that goes to the creator who planned the trip. Some hotels and partners also pay us a commission.
Can I change parts of the trip?
Yes. When you plan your booking you can pick where you’re starting from, your dates and how many of you are going, swap options the creator offers (say, a hire car or trains), add extras and drop the train to the airport.
How do I pay?
You pay in full when you book, by card or with Klarna if you’d like to spread the cost. Prices can be shown in your currency, but you’re charged in pounds sterling.
Can I book if I don't live in the UK?
Not yet. For now we can only take bookings from people living in the UK. You can still browse and price any trip, and we’ll open up to more countries soon.
What details do you need?
Everyone’s name exactly as on their passport, date of birth and passport gender, plus an email, mobile number and UK postcode for the lead traveller. Airlines and hotels need these to issue tickets and reservations.
Do I need a visa?
It depends on your nationality and destination. Before you pay, we show where to check passport, visa and health rules for your destination.
Where are my booking references?
In your confirmation email and under Your account. Flights show the airline’s own booking reference, which you can use with the airline.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time before you travel. You get back whatever the airlines and hotels refund to us (our own margin isn’t refunded), and a full refund if we cancel or something unavoidable affects your trip. The details are in our cancellation policy.
Is my money protected?
Trips on Boundl are packages, so you have all the rights the Package Travel Regulations 2018 give you. Before Boundl takes real bookings it will have financial protection in place, including ATOL for trips with flights. Bookings made now are test bookings: no money is taken.
Sharing your trips
Who can share a trip?
Anyone with a Boundl account. Plan the days, the stops and where to stay, and publish straight away.
What does Boundl add to my plan?
Flights from each traveller’s nearest airport, the transfer to it, places to stay at the standard you recommend, transport between towns and tickets for the places you mark, all priced and bookable.
What do I earn?
3% of the trip price on every paid booking of your trip, or 5% if you’re one of the first 100 creators to publish, for your first 12 months. Cancelled bookings earn nothing and refunds reduce your share. You can follow it all on your dashboard, and the details are in the creator agreement.
When do I get paid?
On the 15th of each month, by bank transfer, for trips that finished by the end of the month before. If you’re owed less than £25, it rolls over to the next month.
Can I add photos and videos?
Yes: add them in the trip builder. The first one becomes the cover, and they appear on your trip page and in the feed.
