Creator agreement

Last updated 18 October 2026

Draft. We’re having this reviewed before Boundl takes real bookings, so the wording may change. If it does, we’ll ask you to agree to the new version before you publish again.

You share trips on Boundl and earn 3% of the trip price on every paid booking (5% for founding creators in their first year), paid by bank transfer once the trip has happened. You agree to this when you set up your creator profile, or when we ask you to agree to a new version.

1. Who this is between

This agreement is between Boundl, based in Scotland, United Kingdom, and you, the creator who publishes trips on Boundl. It covers every trip you publish.

  • You plan the trip. You write the days, the stops and where to stay.
  • We sell and organise it. Boundl is the organiser of every package booked through a Boundl trip. The traveller’s contract is with us, not with you.
  • You’re independent. You’re not our employee, agent or partner, and you can’t make promises or take bookings on our behalf.
  • Not exclusive. You’re free to share your trips, or other trips, anywhere else.

2. Your trips

You keep ownership of everything you write and upload. You give us the right to use it to show, sell and run your trips.

  • Licence to Boundl. A worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show, adapt (for example resize photos or translate text) and promote your trip content on Boundl and in Boundl’s marketing, while the trip is live.
  • After you take a trip down. We can keep using it for travellers who’ve already booked, and in our records, for as long as we need to.
  • You publish straight away. We don’t approve trips before they go live.
  • Your content is yours to share. You must own, or have permission for, every photo, video and word you upload, and have the consent of anyone recognisable in them.
  • Accurate and honest. Describe places as you found them. If something changes (a place closes, a route stops running), update the trip or tell us.
  • We add the bookable parts. Flights, transfers, hotels at the standard you recommend, transport between towns and tickets are chosen and priced by us. They may differ from what you used yourself.

3. What you earn

You earn 3% of the trip price on every paid booking of your trip. The trip price is everything the traveller pays for the trip, including any extras they add. Boundl’s margin is built into those prices, with nothing added on top.

Founding creators. The first 100 creators to publish a trip earn 5% instead of 3% on bookings made in the 12 months from the day they first publish. After that, the standard 3% applies. Your dashboard shows if you have a founding place and when it ends.

  • Fixed at booking. Your share is worked out and recorded when the traveller pays, so a later change to the rate never changes a booking already made.
  • Cancelled bookings earn nothing, whoever cancels.
  • Refunds reduce it in proportion. If part of a booking is refunded, your share shrinks by the same fraction.
  • Test bookings earn nothing.

For example, if the traveller pays £2,000 for the trip, you earn £60. If £400 is refunded, you earn £48. If the booking is cancelled, you earn nothing.

4. Getting paid

Your share becomes payable the day after the trip ends, so cancellations and refunds are settled first. We pay what’s owed by bank transfer, in pounds sterling, on the 15th of each month, for trips that finished by the end of the month before. If you’re owed less than £25, it rolls over to the next month.

  • Bank details. You give them to us securely when you’re first owed money. We don’t store them in Boundl itself.
  • Statements. Each payout shows on your dashboard with the date, amount and reference.
  • Mistakes. If we overpay you, for example because a refund comes through after a payout, we can take it off your next payout. If we underpay you, we’ll make it up in the next run.
  • Tax. You’re responsible for your own tax and National Insurance on what you earn. If you’re VAT-registered, tell us and we’ll agree how you invoice us.
  • Questions. Tell us within 90 days of a payout if you think it’s wrong and we’ll look at it together.

5. Promoting your trips

Because you earn from bookings, posts that link to or promote your Boundl trips are advertising, and UK rules say they must be labelled clearly.

  • Label it. Put “Ad” (or “#ad”) up front on any post promoting your Boundl trip, so followers know before they engage.
  • Fair prices. Prices change with dates and departure airport. Say “from” and link to the trip rather than quoting a fixed price.
  • No promises we can’t keep. Don’t promise refunds, upgrades, availability or anything not shown on the trip page.
  • Paying in instalments. Don’t describe Klarna or other ways to spread the cost in your own words. Pay-later is regulated, so only use wording we give you.
  • Our name and logo. Use them only to point people to your trips, in the form we supply.
  • Bookings go through Boundl. Don’t take money or bookings for a Boundl trip yourself.

6. What Boundl does

  • Prices and payment. We set the trip price from live supplier prices, with our margin built in, and take payment.
  • Booking. We book the flights, stays, transport and tickets, and send the traveller their references.
  • Customer care. Travellers come to us with questions, changes, cancellations and complaints. If one reaches you, pass it on to support@boundl.app.
  • Package responsibility. As organiser, we’re responsible to the traveller under the Package Travel Regulations 2018, and we hold the financial protection.
  • Keeping you in the loop. We’ll tell you if something serious goes wrong on one of your trips, without sharing travellers’ personal details beyond what’s needed.

7. Standards

We can hide a trip or suspend your profile if it breaks this agreement or puts travellers at risk. We’ll tell you why and, where we can, give you the chance to fix it first. We may hide a trip that:

  • includes content you don’t have the rights to, or that’s unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit
  • sends travellers somewhere the FCDO advises against travelling to
  • is misleading, or can no longer be booked as described

We may suspend you for repeated or serious breaches, including taking bookings yourself or misleading travellers. While a trip is hidden, existing bookings still go ahead and still earn your share. While you’re suspended, money you’ve already earned is still paid unless it came from a breach.

8. Ending the agreement

You can leave at any time by taking your trips offline and telling us. We can end the agreement with 30 days’ notice, or straight away for a serious breach.

  • Your trips stop taking new bookings.
  • Bookings already made still go ahead, and you still earn your share on them once each trip ends.
  • Your final payout is made in the next payout run after your last booked trip has finished.
  • The licence for already-booked trips, payment of earned shares and section 9 continue after it ends.

9. Liability, changes and law

  • Your content. If someone makes a claim against us because content you uploaded infringes their rights, you’ll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.
  • Our limit. Our total liability to you under this agreement is capped at the shares we’ve paid you in the previous 12 months. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
  • Personal data. We don’t share travellers’ details with you. If you receive any, use them only to pass the query to us. Our privacy policy explains how we handle yours.
  • Changes. We’ll give you 30 days’ notice by email of any change to this agreement. A change to the share rate never affects bookings already made. If you don’t agree, you can leave before it takes effect.
  • Law. Scots law governs this agreement, and the Scottish courts deal with any dispute.
